Speaker Bio

Carissa Belford

Carissa has been married to Brent for 26 years and they have 5 children. Brent is the lead pastor at Colonial Baptist Church in Virginia Beach, VA. Three of the five kids are in college, so attending their sports activities through the year is a part-time job!

Carissa enjoys discipleship ministry at CBC and leads the women’s ministry team. Her desire is to let the Word of Christ dwell richly in her, so that it can encourage others in the shared journey toward an eternal home. 

Her topic is “Rooted in Christ” drawn from Col. 2:6-7. Session 1 will be about an identity IN Christ. Session 2 highlights the need for Growth in relationship with Christ and others. Session 3 will be about Being Thankful.

“As you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and established in the faith as you have been taught, abounding in Thanksgiving.”

The biennial SALT Women’s Conference is held at Lakeshore Baptist Church every other Fall. Each conference seeks to point the women of our community toward Christ as their ultimate treasure, God’s Word as the truth for daily living, and each other as sisters-in-Christ for encouragement and edification.
